I am delighted to share that I have been selected as a delegate for UN Women UK at the upcoming 68th session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68).
The focus of this year’s session is particularly pertinent, addressing the urgent need to end poverty and enhance the economic empowerment of women and girls. This theme resonates deeply with current global challenges and the ongoing pursuit of gender equality.
As a delegate, I commit to actively engaging in the discussions, learning from my esteemed fellow delegates, and collaborating with leaders and innovators in the field. My goal is to particularly bring the intersection of climate change to the forefront and contribute substantively to the development of strategies and solutions that foster a more equitable and inclusive future.
I am honoured to be part of this significant event and look forward to making a meaningful impact in the realm of gender equality and women’s empowerment.
This feels like I am following in my mom’s footsteps, who as a pharmacist worked with World Health Organization on the fight against malaria in her community in Nigeria.
